Lawn Ranger Lawn Care

Services

What the Ranger does —in plain English.

I’ll quote any of these on-site. The price you get is the price you pay — no surprise add-ons, no upsells.

  • Weekly Mowing

The Ranger rides through your block on the same morning every week — sharp blades, even cut, walks blown clean before I leave.

Weekly or bi-weekly mowing across San Antonio and the surrounding metro. Mulch-cut by default, bagging on request, cut height adjusted for the brutal Texas summer so the lawn keeps moisture and never gets scalped. Edged at every visit, drives and walks blown clean before I head to the next block.

  • Edging & Trimming

Crisp, deliberate edges along beds, walks, and drives — string-trimmed around fences, posts, and the mailbox the mower can’t reach.

Power-edged borders that hold the line for the whole week, careful trim work around obstacles a mower can’t reach, and a final blower pass so nothing gets carried over to the patio or street. The kind of edge a neighbor notices from across the street.

  • Leaf Cleanup

Live-oak leaves, sycamore drop, pecan litter — bagged, blown out of beds, and gone before the next rain mats them down.

San Antonio doesn’t get a clean fall — live-oak leaves drop in spring, pecans and sycamores drop into November. I clear what’s actually on the ground that week: lawn raked, beds blown, gutters checked from the ground, debris hauled off so it’s not your problem.

  • Mulch Refresh

Hardwood, cedar, or dyed black — installed at the right depth so the beds look fresh and the South Texas sun doesn’t bake the roots.

Mulch hand-spread to a consistent 2 to 3 inches around plants and trees, with a clean edge against the lawn. Old clumped mulch pulled out first if it needs it. Done right, a mulch refresh keeps moisture in through August and crowds the weeds out so I’m not pulling them back every visit.

  • Bed Maintenance

Weeds pulled by hand, perennials pruned at the right time, and the front beds kept looking like someone tends them.

Hand-pulled weeds (no glyphosate near edibles unless you ask), seasonal pruning timed to each plant, and a fresh mulch top-up every spring and fall to keep moisture in and weeds suppressed. Lantana, salvia, esperanza, agave — I know what wants what in this climate.

  • Shrub & Hedge Trimming

Boxwood, ligustrum, holly, oleander — shaped clean, debris hauled off, the hedge actually looks like a hedge.

Hand-shaped trimming on a schedule that suits the plant — not the calendar. Soft natural shapes for the front-yard ornamentals, sharper geometry where you want a formal line. Clippings bagged and hauled off the same visit.

  • Sod Patches

Bermuda, zoysia, or St. Augustine patches where the chinch bugs or shade got the better of the lawn.

Soil prep, light grading, fresh sod laid in a brick-pattern with tight seams, rolled in. I print a watering schedule for the first three weeks and check root contact at week two. Most San Antonio yards call for St. Augustine in the shade and Bermuda where the sun beats on it.

  • Sprinkler Check-Ups

Heads adjusted, broken risers swapped, controllers programmed for SAWS watering rules — no soggy sidewalks, no dry corners.

Spring start-up, summer adjustments, fall shutdown — and I’ll fix the head you keep meaning to call about. Programmed to whatever stage of SAWS watering rules we’re in. Walked zone by zone with you so you know what each station hits.

Most weekly customers add cleanups, mulch, and the odd hardscape job — there’s usually a flat-rate way to handle that.
